What’s for dinner tonight? Ummmm…. I dunno. Do you?!
Enter the menu plan! I’ve been trying to stick to a menu plan every week. It’s not always possible, but for the most part we are using it.
Making The Menu
When I first starting making menus for our weekly meals I tried to do it by myself. I would look at what I had in the fridge and pantry. I would look at the grocery sales ads. Then I would make the menu and when I would get ready to fix dinner I either wasn’t in the mood for what I had planned or my husband wasn’t. Something had to change.
Involving Your Family
I realized that making a menu for my husband and I wasn’t going to work unless he helped me. Now we sit down together and I ask him “What do you want on ___day?” I still look at sales ads and what we already have, but let me tell you! This works so much better for us! We both choose meals we want for the week and we get the menu done within about 10-15 minutes. It’s impressive.
Stick to the Plan, Man!
I’m kind of a perfectionist. I admit it. So I have to make what is on the menu for that day or it irritates me! Thankfully since I do most of the cooking, that’s not a problem. Hehe. Today we’re having Slow Cooker Lasagna.
