I’ve gotten to talk to my hubby a few times since he got to Afghanistan. He called me twice and we’ve instant messaged each other a few times. He’s also emailed me a few times. 🙂 I’m so glad for any communication! I have the feeling that it may be less frequent as his unit travels, but that will make each conversation that more special. I have not let my phone be away from my side though. I can get my email, facebook, and twitter all on my phone, so he can contact me where ever I am! It comes in handy. One day last week I had to go to the library to return some books. While I was out, I got a Twitter message from him saying he was online! I quickly replied that I would be home in a few minutes so I could get online to talk to him. I was so thankful for Twitter!!
One of my goals for this year is to lose weight. I would love to lose at least 2 lbs a day. That would be so amazing! I have been making menus for me and my sister. For one thing, that will help us be healthier, and it will also help me be more organized and on schedule! (Any tips on any of this would be greatly appreciated!!) Hannah and I have also been going to the YMCA, taking water aerobics classes! They are SO much fun!! We got rained out yesterday, but we are going back today. You really get a good workout, but its not hard on your joints! It’s really great for me.
I’ve been trying to figure out where I want to hang pictures. I have several different ones, plus the vinyl letters. I’m going to put those in my bedroom saying “My Heart is in Afghanistan”. I have a wooden plaque that says “Sarah & Matthew” and has “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15” carved into it. I’m going to hang that over my tv. Other than that, I may have to wait until we have all the boxes unpacked and furniture in place. I’ll post pictures when I have it all done!
Well, I’m gonna go. I have to go to class and then stop at my parent’s house to get some of my scrapbooking stuff. I’m using that to decorate hubby’s care packages! 🙂 I will post pictures of those, but only after he gets them. I don’t want him to see the pics before he gets the package!
Hang in there:) My best friend’s husband is an army chaplain in Afghanistan right now. Please share our gratitude with your husband for his service to our country:)
I would LOVE to lose 2 lbs a day! I’ve been trying to live healthier as well! Water aerobics sounds like a blast!
Thank you! I will definitely tell him that. Water aerobics IS a blast! But it’s not easy! And it helps if you have good rhythm! LOL!
