Last year my sister got a new roommate. (Who is also a friend of our’s) We painted her room with a “Tinkerbell” theme. Here’s what it looks like:
.
Since she is moving in with her fiance and I am moving back in with my sister, I decided to go for a more mature look. I picked a different shade of green, but it’s more mellow than the BRIGHT green she used. I’m painting the bedroom and the bathroom the same color. It will match my brown, green & tan shower curtain! Hehe. I’m excited. Unfortunately, we didn’t get it finished today, so you will have to check back later this week for the after pictures!
Do you have any before/after pictures of any projects? Please share!!
We are in North Carolina this week because my husband’s oldest daughter just graduated from high school. We are SO proud of her!! The graduation was at 8:30am yesterday morning. We got up early, drove to Duke University’s Cameron Indoor Stadium and got our seats. The ceremony itself wasn’t that long, because there were more graduations happening there later. Here are some pictures!

Now, about this Hotel Evacuation, you ask. We came back to our hotel yesterday after the graduation and lunch at Shell’s house. We had been here for about 2 hours when the front desk called and said that the police had apprehended someone and they had to search the hotel. We were like “oooookaaayyy”. We got in our van and drove to the shopping center next to our hotel. We sat there for about 45 minutes and then we called the hotel and asked if we could go back to our room. They told us that the police hadn’t even gotten the search warrant yet and it would take about 2 hours for them to get it. So we went back to the room. We fixed our dinner and started watching tv. Around 2 hours later we got another phone call and they told us that the police had the search warrant and we had to evacuate for about 30 minutes. So we got back in our van and drove to the office building right next to the hotel. We could see more action that way.

There were about 6 police cars, a SWAT hummer, a big police truck (almost looked like a moving truck), K9 units, etc. It was CRAZY! Then the local news van pulled up right next to us. We still had no clue what had happened. We thought that maybe it was drug related. Matthew had said he smelled marijuana a couple of times when we were walking into the hotel. Plus, its an extended stay hotel, so all the rooms have full kitchens. We were thinking of different situations while sitting in the van. After about an hour we saw the police leave and people started going back in the hotel. We went back to our room and started watching tv again. Then the news came on. Apparently there had been a BOMB THREAT! What a way to spend our vacation.
Thankfully nothing bad happened. They arrested the person and we were all ok. But it made a GREAT story! LOL! Do you have any interesting vacation stories?
