This is part of Wives of Faith’s Military Spouse Appreciation Blog Carnival 2011.

Today’s theme is 11 things you want to do in your current duty station, or upcoming duty station. Since I’ve lived in this area my entire life, I’m gonna list things I want to do in our upcoming duty station, Ft Knox KY. I’m so excited about being there. It’s about 45 minutes from Louisville KY, which is where my mom’s family is from. So it’s home away from home!

1. I’m very excited about touring Elizabethtown (E-town), which is right outside Ft Knox.

2. I definitely want to go see the birth place of Abraham Lincoln. As many times as I’ve driven past the signs for it, I’ve never been.

3. While I’ll probably never actually GO to the Kentucky Derby, I DO want to host a Derby Day Party while I’m actually in Kentucky!

4. I want to go to Thunder Over Louisville.

5. Go see a Louisville Bats baseball game.

6. Go to the Louisville Zoo. I’ve been before but I was LITTLE when I went. I’ve been wanting to go back for years.

7. Go letterboxing all around the area! Maybe even plant a few boxes!!

8. I want to go to the Patton Museum at Ft Knox.

9. We’ve been to the Louisville Slugger Museum which is a BLAST! Especially if you love baseball as much as my hubby does!

10. I want to go to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY! (Another attraction I’ve driven past for years on end and have never been to!)

11. We have been to the Schmidt Coca Cola Museum in Elizabethtown KY. SO much fun! It’s the family’s personal collection, as they used to be a bottling plant for Coca Cola! (Unfortunately the museum is now closed and they are auctioning off the collection! But the gift shop is still open. Sad day.)

My blog is THREE years old today! WOW! It’s hard to believe. But that’s just this blog! I’ve been blogging even longer. Close to 10 years! Which is crazy.

Anywho. I don’t have anything big planned. I’ve had way too much going on this past month. Maybe I’ll plan something big for next year. You’ll help me remember, right?

This morning I went to the doctor for a check up. They did blood work, which I never like. I should know the results from that in about a week. My blood pressure was WAY down compared to last time! YAY!! It’s actually normal now. Thank God! I’ve been so worried about that. He also told me that since I’ve been taking my medicine, I’m on a normal cycle. Which means I should be ovulating correctly. Which means, I might have the chance of getting pregnant the normal way! I really really hope so.

I really like my doctor. I’m comfortable with him, which is so not normal for me. But he’s easy to talk to and he’s a Christian. I really hate that I have to leave him with we PCS. He told me today that I can still come to him when we move back. Hehe. So I should only have to find ONE more doctor, when we move. Ugh. Welcome to Military Life!

This post is kind of random. I don’t really have all that much to say. I have lots of cleaning to do today. And I really need to work on menu planning and making a grocery list. (Both of which I’m HORRIBLE at, but getting better.) If you have any tips or ideas about menu planning, please share!

I’m sure by now you’ve all noticed the new look here. I decided that since I’m an Army wife, my blog should look a little more like it too. I’m still playing with ideas in my head. It’s really a constant renovation here. I’ve had several main designs since I started this blog. Who knows how many I’ll go through! It’s kind of like me and furniture. I love to move furniture around in my house, at least once every 6 months! (If I have room. Unfortunately, where I live now and the place before, I had no such luck. Torture.)

Anyways, I’ve been wanting to change my look here for a while. Taking my time to look at different ideas and color schemes. I’m pretty happy with it now, but I am still debating. If you have any comments, ideas, suggestions, ramblings, etc, PLEASE let me know! I am always open to them! I’ve only been using WP for about a year (WOW! March 1st!!), so I’m still learning every day. I see other blogs and see how pretty they are or how social they are, and I want that for my blog. I want to grow my community here. I have a few loyal commenters, but the majority of the people who follow my blog, I’ve never heard from them. I know I haven’t been much of a consistent blogger, but I am trying. See how many posts I’ve done this month! *Pats self on back*

Sometimes it’s so hard for me to come up with ideas for what to write. I don’t want to bore my readers to death. I also want it to be more than just a journal. (Although, I may share an old diary entry with you soon.) I’m sure we all have writer’s block. So why can’t we help each other out? Let’s get to know each other! If you want to know anything about me, ask. I’m an open book. (Obviously, or I wouldn’t have a blog!) Maybe I can find some random survey or I could host a blog hop. I’ve never done it before, but like I said, I’m wanting to try new things. Let me hear your feedback. You, my loyal readers. Are you out there?

I used to want to change my name, when I was younger. I couldn’t stand it because I didn’t have a nickname. But now that I’m older, I LOVE my name. Plus, I love that it means “Princess”.

The chicken! Duh. But then the Chick Fil A cows got a hold of things, and it’s been downhill for the chickens ever since!

A monster. Like on Monster’s Inc? They’re so cute!!

7. Would you rather be forced to scream at the top of your lungs for an hour everyday or have earlobes the size of basketballs?

Probably scream. Big earlobes do nothing for me.

8. if you had to eat a crayon, what color would it be?

What does the color matter?! It’s still WAX! (But I’d choose Purple)

To say that I was freaked out would be an understatement. I logged onto my admin page and everything looked fine. I went to my blog site and it was not showing my home page! Along with all my posts! *AGH!* I was so worried that I had messed something up when I upgraded my WordPress. I sent out a plea on Twitter and @wishfulme and @sunflowermommie came to my rescue! I am so incredibly grateful! It ended up just being a bad plugin. (Well, not bad, just not compatible with WP 3.0) All is back to normal now!

I’ve been way behind on all things blog this week. But I have good reason. I am spending these last few days with my amazing husband before he leaves for deployment. I may not be on here for a while. So much going on. So many emotions. I need lots of prayers and encouragement. Advice for dealing with deployment would be helpful as well!

I can’t think of anything else to say that won’t bring tears to my eyes. Please keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers this next few days.

This week SITS is hosting the Chick Click Carnival. I thought I would chip in too! For those of you who don’t know me,  I’m Sarah Ruth, a southern gal from Nashville TN. I just married the love of my life, Matthew, on January 16, 2010. He is a soldier getting ready to deploy this summer. I love reading, scrapbooking, photography, blogging, movies, etc. I am obsessed with finding all kinds of new recipes to try for me & my hubby. We just moved in with my sister so I won’t be alone while he’s deployed. I am SO glad to be back in my home town! Oh how I’ve missed it so!

I haven’t posted much this week because we have been packing for our move. We have a week left! I’m so excited to get out of our apartment. I really don’t like it! Plus I will be SO glad to be back in my home town! My 15 year old step-daughter has been staying at my sister’s house, helping her roommate pack her stuff to move out. She is moving out this weekend. (Today or tomorrow) She has to re-paint the bedroom and bathroom before we move in. So hopefully that will be done during this week!

I’m having another yard sale today. I’ve made more than twice as much as I did last weekend!! Which is crazy to me. Last weekend was a NEIGHBORHOOD yard sale. This week is not. Plus, this morning it rained a little bit. Thankfully, it was just for a minute or two and then it stopped. Its also better today because my dad’s van is not blocking the garage! So we have everything IN the garage instead of out in the heat! MUCH BETTER! I won’t be open much longer though. I’m ready to hit the pool!

I will try to set up some scheduled posts for the next week or so. I hate leaving you all hanging! Hope everyone has a superb weekend!
